Why use any massage oils at all?

If the body is rubbed dry, the friction created generates heat and pain.
Massage oils eliminate friction and disperse heat evenly trough the body. Massage oil are nutrient for the skin and strengthen the nerve fibres that are connected to the hair follicles. The small amount of massage oils remaining on the skin afterwards provides resistance to environmental pressures and temperature. Application of massage oils to the navel before going to sleep cures dryness of the whole body. When massage oils are applied at the junction of spine and skull, they calm the entire nervous system, strengthem memory and improve the eyesight.

How important is massage for health?

Massage is one of the best body cleanser. To dispel toxins from the body, and to recycle vital life fluid, there is nothing better than massage. By working with muscles, you make the muscles work. Then fluids move out and new fluids full of nourishment flow in. In this way massage expels toxins. Also, it strengthens the body. It strengthens the immune system, and it´s soothing.

Shirodhara

Shiro en Sanskrit means "head" and Dhara means " that which flows in a steady stream". In this treatment herbal oil is poured on the fore head for 30 to 45 minutes, followed be gentle scalp massage. It works on the cerebral system and balancing the vital energy around the head. It improves the function of the five sense, helps against insomnia, stress, anxiety and depression, hair loss, fatigue and makes you feel calm and fresh.

Abhyanga Marma Massage

This is an Abhyanga Massage with treatment of Marma Points. The Marma massage involves full body massage with warm medicated oil and stimulating or massaging the Marma Points. The word Marma means a tender, secret o vital place. There are total of 107 vital points in the body. Marma Massage stimulates the own energy resources and gives a person more vital energy. It removes blockages from the Marma Points giving physical and psychological relaxation and strength. Stimulating or massaging the Marma Points gives benefits to the area of their location and improves the function of the connecting organs.

Abhyanga Massage

Abhyanga Massage is a traditional Ayurvedic Massage also mainly known as Kerala Massage.

This is a gently but firm whole body massage from head to toe using warm medicated oil. Oils are chosen acording to the psychosomatic constitution or the illness. The massage is done in a soft rhyhmic way for fifty to sixty minutes. After the massage a steam bath or hot shower is highly recommended. A regular Abhyanga Massage protects from stress, anxiety, exhaustion. It nourishes the body, extendes the life span, provides the vision and provides better physical stabilty.

Ayur Yogic Massage
